I was inspired to write this poem based on a line in a poem called "Why Just Ask the Donkey" by Hafiz. The line is: When I have so many other animals and brightly colored birds inside." Since I broke my arm and displaced my rotator cuff, I feel like I have a broken wing and am confined to the nest so I guess it finally emerged as a poem.
