Day 57 of The 100 Day Poetry Project

Day 57 of The 100 Day Poetry Project

I just got back from the Haven Retreat for childhood sex abuse survivors. I spent the week with 12 amazing women and we've bonded into a sisterhood. One of our first activities together was Kintsugi. It is the art of mending a broken piece of pottery to embrace the beauty of imperfection and to know that we are not broken even though we have deep hidden wounds and scars from the abuse.

I'm not hiding who I am anymore. I am in the process of being reborn.
Try not to hide what you have been through. There is beauty in imperfection. Embrace your imperfections and be reborn.
